Definición de historia El significado de historia se refiere tanto a la disciplina de las ciencias sociales que estudia y relata los acontecimientos pasados de la humanidad, como a las narraciones de los hechos y sucesos verdaderos o ficticios. La palabra historia deriva del latín historia, la cual surgió del griego ἱστορία (historía), y cuyo significado indica investigación, información. El término historia es bastante amplio, por tal razón es importante exponer cuáles son sus diferentes usos según sea el caso, ya que, en términos generales, siempre va a hacer referencia a un hecho pasado.
